Anesthesia is a topic we take very seriously at Park Gate Animal & Bird Hospital. We use the safest available anesthetics to provide that extra margin of safety for your pet, especially for our older or high risk patients. The patient's vital signs (heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure and blood oxygen saturation) are monitored during anesthetic procedures. Patients who undergo a general anesthetic are also placed on intravenous fluids to maintain adequate blood flow through the kidneys and maintain normal blood pressure.
